I worked as the Project Manager and Interior Designer for John Fluevog Shoes for just under two years. In this time I helped to design and open five new stores, including their first European location in Amsterdam. I worked directly alongside my boss and CEO Adrian Fluevog to create these stores, as well as collaborating with our furniture designer Nathan Wiens of Chapel Arts and having the occasional input from John Fluevog himself. For the two Boston stores I also worked along side Kendra Patton. Together we brought these stores from concept to reality and did so in record time, usually only 2-3 months.
No two Fluevog stores are alike, which makes this job so creative and challenging because it calls for a new vision with each new location. This means we could carry forward some classic design elements such as neon signature signs and custom carpets, but ultimately had to custom each store to match the community it was growing into. These stores offer a unique landscape for our consumers to interact with our staff and the product and connect to the brand on a personal level.
